Our story
Our work is connected.
Our future is shared.
Across education, arts, culture, healing, and community life, people are doing the work of change every day. That work needs connection, care, and the resources to endure.
Liberation Legacy Collective brings these efforts into relationship. Rooted in social justice, we understand solidarity as discovering where our work intersects and acting together to challenge systems of control, violence, inequity, and greed.
For us, liberation includes the freedom to pursue meaningful work without a constant struggle for survival. Legacy means leaving future generations greater freedom, stronger relationships, more resources, and fewer battles to fight. We are learning how to build that future without reproducing colonial or hierarchical assumptions.
Our values in practice
How we work
matters.
Our shared values challenge us to practice the world we hope to create—in our own organizations and in the Collective. How we lead, respond to conflict, and share resources matters as much as the work itself.
Reciprocal trust
Distributive leadership
Share responsibility, recognize each person’s wisdom, and create meaningful opportunities to shape the work together.
Gratitude
Restorative practices
Recognize what each person brings. When conflict arises, listen with care, take responsibility, and work toward repair.
Generosity
Gift economy
Share knowledge, time, relationships, and resources to support one another and strengthen our communities.
Our founding organizations
Many paths.
A shared commitment.
Our 19 founding organizations bring this vision to life. Each brings its own community, experience, and approach to creating change.

From shared values
to shared action.
We are building relationships through meaningful action, beginning where our work naturally connects. Alongside collaboration, we are developing our approach to membership, documentation, and long-term resources.
Collaboration that grows
from real relationships
Clarify how people and organizations can participate and share responsibility. Begin with common concerns—from education and youth to environmental justice, special needs, and policy—and build trust through work we can do together.
Wisdom and stories
worth carrying forward
Develop ways to tell our shared story, document what we learn, and make space for community voices. Share practices and insights that others can adapt to their own contexts.
Resources for
a lasting legacy
Explore collective fundraising, endowments, and gift economics so the people and organizations doing this work can survive and thrive. Our approach to financial sustainability is being developed together, with future generations in mind.
Coming together
Room for joy.
Space for possibility.
Gathering creates time to listen, build trust, celebrate our communities, and discover what we can do together.

Sustaining the people
who sustain communities.
The work of change can feel lonely and exhausting. Coming together offers encouragement, renewed energy, and space to hold joy and sorrow with care. We return to our communities reminded that we are not alone. Sustaining the people who sustain movements is part of the legacy we are building.
